The Birds Movie Summary
The Birds begins with an innocent love triangle between rich, spoilt Melanie Daniels (Tippi Hedren), attractive Mitch Brenner (Rod Taylor), and schoolteacher Annie Hayworth (Suzanne Pleshette).
The human story starts in a pet store in San Francisco. It ends in Mitch’s mother’s (Jessica Tandy) house in Bodega Bay, where the peculiar behavior of the local birds gradually destroys the protagonists’ sense of security.
It first is little more than a seagull flying above and picking at Melanie’s head. Things get pretty unpleasant when a large flock of birds gathers at a children’s party.
The reason the birds have gone berserk is never explained, but once the attack starts, there is seldom any respite.
